Altura Workshop Includes Breakfast

Feb. 20 in Riverside

(Riverside, Calif.) Feb.11, 2013 – Altura Credit Union is launching a series of free monthly workshops designed to help people become more financially fit. The new “Breakfast With Altura” series kicks off with “Building a Better Budget” on Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 7 to 8:15 a.m. at Altura’s Riverside headquarters, 2847 Campus Parkway.

“We believe that helping people become financially fit is not only good for them, it’s good for the whole community,” said Jennifer Binkley, Altura’s chief operating officer. “As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, Altura exists to help people, not make a profit for shareholders. It’s a people-first philosophy. These workshops are just another way we are delivering on that philosophy,” she added.

“Having good financial skills helps people more successfully navigate major life decisions such as buying a car or home, and planning for the future,” Binkley said. “More and more people are recognizing the value of financial fitness skills, especially after the tough economic times of the last few years. In good times and bad, these skills are priceless.”

Building a Better Budget is the first in a series of workshops scheduled for the third Wednesday of each month, all at Altura’s headquarters. Workshops are open to Members and non-Members alike. Upcoming topics include: saving for your future, auto buying basics, resume writing tips, first-time home buying and more.

A continental breakfast will be served. Because seating is limited, reservations are requested. Call 1-888-883-7228 to reserve a seat. For more information on this workshop and others, visit www.alturacu.com/education/workshops.

Altura is a Member-owned financial cooperative. Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Riverside and San Diego counties and selected cities in San Bernardino and Orange counties. Membership is not required to take advantage of this workshop series.
