(Riverside, Calif.) April 22, 2013 – Teresa Flores of Riverside is the latest local resident to win $500 from Altura Credit Union. She was entered to win by simply using her Altura Credit Union Visa® Debit Card to make a purchase.

Altura’s “You’re Gonna Love This Card!” promotion was created to spread the word about the convenience of using its debit card for everyday purchases. Every time an Altura Credit Union Member makes a purchase using their Altura Debit Card they are entered for a chance to win a $500 cash prize. The more a Member swipes a card for purchases, the more times they are entered to win. One winner will be drawn each month through December.

Flores was the winner for March. It took a lot of convincing for Flores to believe she won the cash when contacted by Altura. She was sure it had to be a prank. But once she realized it was true, she began to cry saying that this win couldn’t come at a better time. Her family had been dealing with a recent crisis, and the prize money came at the right time. An Altura member for five years, Flores said she will pay some bills and keep a little to “spoil” herself and her husband.

To be eligible for this promotion, members need an Altura Visa Debit Card and a checking account. They also must register their card through Altura’s website to participate in the promotion.

Altura Credit Union’s products and services are available to its members. Individuals can join Altura for a one-time membership fee of $10. Membership is open to persons who live, work, attend school or worship in Riverside and San Diego counties and selected cities in San Bernardino and Orange counties. As a credit union, Altura is a non-for-profit financial cooperative owned by its members.
