Complimentary Altura Credit Union Workshop May 15 in Riverside

(Riverside, Calif.) May 6, 2013 – In today’s challenging job market, job hunters can be competing with hundreds of other applicants. A well-crafted resume is a vital element in any successful job seeker’s toolbox. Altura Credit Union is offering a free workshop, “Resume Writing Tips,” on Wednesday, May 15, from 7 to 8:15 a.m. at its headquarters, 2847 Campus Parkway, Riverside.

This workshop is the latest in a series called “Breakfast with Altura” that offers information and tips on common financially related challenges. Workshops are open to both Altura members and the general public. Upcoming topics include: Dreaming Of Buying A Home, Raising Money-Smart Kids, Understanding Credit and more.

In the May Resume Writing workshop participants will learn tips for making the most of their cover letter and resume. The workshop will review:

• The dos and don’ts of resume writing

• How to make good use of “success” language and “action” words to sell your accomplishments

• What to include in a resume, and what to leave out

• How to tailor your resume to the job you are seeking

• How to use an “Objective Statement” on a resume

• How to summarize your qualifications

• The importance of a Cover Letter

• About harnessing the power of Social Media
