Sept. 19 in Riverside

(Riverside, Calif.) Sept. 4, 2013 – The last few years in the U.S. economy have derailed the money management plans of plenty of families. Job loss, a major illness, unexpected home or car repairs, piled onto an already shaky economic foundation can cause anyone to falter. Altura Credit Union is offering tips and tools for “Rebuilding After A Financial Crisis” at a free workshop on Wednesday, Sept. 19, from 7 to 8:15 a.m. at its headquarters, 2847 Campus Parkway, Riverside.

This workshop is the ninth in the credit union’s year-long “Breakfast With Altura” workshop series. This latest class is designed to help individuals and families who may have been thrown into crisis mode because of their finances. They may have run through their savings, piled up debit and bottomed out their credit score.

Participants at the September workshop will learn that:

• Budgeting is the foundation of financial success. Learn how to set up a realistic budget to track expenses, pay bills on time, save money and cut debt.

• Debt repayment isn’t so scary when a plan of attack is created.

• Credit scores can be improved by sticking to the plan.

• Setting up an emergency savings plan is key to long-term success.

• With the above steps in place, people can start saving for retirement.

A continental breakfast will be served. Because seating is limited, reservations are requested. Call 1-888-883-7228 to reserve a seat. For more information on this workshop and others, visit www.alturacu.com/education/workshops.
