Courtesy Pay

Payment Options With Your Altura Checking Account

Altura Credit Union offers a service called Courtesy Pay to members who have payroll direct deposit (PDD) into their Checking Account. Courtesy Pay gives members the confidence of knowing their transaction should not be declined and checks will not bounce.

There is a fee associated with Courtesy Pay. This fee occurs when a transaction is applied to an account and the funds are not available. With Courtesy Pay the transaction is paid for, the fee is assessed, and the account is taken negative. Altura will do this for members who have payroll direct deposit knowing that they will have a deposit soon to cover the overdraft.

Altura pays overdrafts at its discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction.

Changes to Courtesy Pay Program

Effective August 15, 2010, Courtesy Pay will only be available on checks and ACH withdrawals. (ACH are pre-authorized withdrawals from your account such as Web Bill Pay or withdrawals made by companies with whom members have authorized to do so.) If a member wants to continue this service with their Visa debit transactions or ATM transactions, they must opt-in.

What You Need To Do

Effective August 15, 2010 if you want to continue this service as described above you must opt-in. If you do not opt-in the service will be discontinued on your account and your debit and ATM transactions will be denied if you have insufficient funds in your account. You can opt-out of this service at any time.

To Opt-In to Courtesy Pay and assure that your account continues to receive this overdraft protection service, please contact Member Service at 1-888-883-7228, or visit your local branch.
