Bonds are loans that you can make to corporations or the government. Borrowers get the cash they need and you get to earn interest.

What Are Bonds?

Bonds are appealing because they are a consistent revenue stream. They generally pay a set amount of interest on a regular basis. There are many types of bonds including:

  • Corporate Bonds
  • Zero Coupon Bonds
  • CMO Bonds
  • Treasury Bonds
  • Municipal Bonds
  • Structured Notes

The return and principal value of bonds vary depending on who issued the bond. Market conditions also affect bonds. If you redeem your bonds before their maturity, your bonds may be worth more or less than their original cost.

How to Start Investing

You can start investing in bonds even if you don’t have much money coming in every month. The easiest way to start is with an automatic investment plan. You can make an appointment with your local CFS wealth management consultant by calling Member Services at 1-888-883-7228. You can also visit your local Altura branch to speak with someone in person. Get started with a consultation at no cost to you.

Altura’s financial consultants are registered through CFS in the following states:

  • Arkansas
  • Indiana
  • New York
  • Utah
