These recent times have been difficult, so we wanted to share some tips on how to stay resilient when important aspects of our lives such as social interaction and exercise are affected.
- Don’t underestimate Zoom meetings or FaceTime calls: Humans need interaction and while we may be using the time to do other things that we feel are important, like the side project we always wanted to start, we still do need interaction. Sharing some conversation and seeing a person’s face helps give us that connection we’ve been missing.
- Get into a workout routine: Working out helps transfer that pent-up mental stress and releases it into physical movement. No weights at home? Push-ups, crunches and running are still effective.
- Calm the mind: Harvard Business Review states that calming the mind is a must when it comes to resilience in the face of crisis. “When we practice bringing ourselves back to the present moment, we deepen our capacity to cope and weather all sorts of crises, whether global or personal.”
